Unit A: "Drawing: Mark Making" - September 24, October 1-8
What could be more exciting than learning to draw? In this three-week session, students will experiment with a variety of mark-making techniques—from sketching in the garden to capture color, shape, and texture, to creating chalk drawings that brighten the sidewalks around OCAC. They’ll also try drawing on black paper with vibrant art sticks and collaborate on a giant scrolling book made from one very long sheet of paper. The possibilities are endless, and so is the creativity.

Unit B: "Clay" - October 29, November 5 - 12
Slimy, sticky, gooey, and absolutely fun - this session is all about clay! Students will get their hands messy while learning basic clay techniques to create an owl, a coil-heart, and a textured plaque titled Life in the Ocean.

Unit C: "Mural Panel" - December 3 - 10 - 17
Get ready to be a mural painter! In this collaborative session, students will design and paint a 4' x 6' wood mural panel using their own hands as the central design element. From tracing and coloring to assembling the finished work, the class will create a vibrant piece of art to display inside the OCAC - a lasting reminder of their creativity.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Scholarship opportunities are available to give residents of all ages the opportunity to participate in programs at the Oxford Community Arts Center. Under the program, 25% and 50% matching scholarships are available through a generous grant from the Kiwanis Club of Oxford.
